Abstract

The purpose of the current research is to analyze the process of teaching professional ethics of teachers in Teacher Training University and to offer a model for it. For this purpose, the research strategy of data-based theory was used, which belongs to the category of qualitative research. The research tool was a semi-structured interview. The participants of the research include all professors of the teacher's professional ethics course at Teacher Training University, and 15 individuals were interviewed based on the criterion of theoretical saturation. After open, central and selective coding, the obtained data were categorized into 10 main categories, which in the form of a paradigm model include: causal conditions (appropriate professor, appropriate content), focal category (effectiveness of ethics education), strategies of professional ethics education (effective teaching method, continuous empowerment), context (ethical university), intervening conditions (conflict between learning and field of practice, unqualified professors) and consequences (positive and negative). This reflects the process of teaching professional ethics and the relationships between different dimensions of teaching professional ethics to student teachers through these categories. In the end, based on the obtained results, recommendations are presented for improving the process of teaching professional ethics of teachers in Teacher Training University.
